These historic old elongated horse troughs are situated in the Australian Light Horse Memorial Park, Seymour, Victoria .
As you can see by the photos they have stood the test of time and are still very well preserved.
They were used by the horses which were with the Light Horse Regiments when they were training before being dispatched overseas to battles.
All of the horses did not return to Australia they had to be left overseas, because of strict Quarantine laws which prohibited horses returning for the countries in which they served.
These troughs would have been a great meeting place, for the all Troopers, and with their horses they would have had many stories to share.
Next time you are passing through Seymour i would recommend a visit to the troughs. They are located in the Seymour industrial estate located on the Yea Road about 5 Ks East of Seymour.
