National Museum Canberra

Hello to all my Bills Horse trough friends and as always hope you are all enjoying good health

Reason for this email is I have received a request from Laura Breen at the National Museum in Canberra.

I will forward on what Laura is seeking and I would fully recommend that any help you can give Laura would be greatly appreciated.

Laura’s email reads

The National Museum of Australia in Canberra is currently developing an exhibition on the social history of horses and humans in Australia which will open in September 2014. We are hoping to locate an original Bills horse trough for inclusion in the exhibition so that we can tell the important story of George and Annis Bills’ care for Australian horses. Ideally, we’d like to locate a trough with some background history and an identifiable place of use. We would be very happy to acquire a trough by donation, purchase, or organize a loan for the nine month duration of the exhibition. If you are able to help please contact

Assistant Curator Laura Breen on 02 6208 5439 02 6208 5439 FREE or Laura.Breen@nma.gov.au.

Any responses before the end of November 2013 would be very much appreciated.

You can contact Laura direct or reply to this email and i will forward your replys on the Laura.

Best Wishes George Gemmill
